Reach New Heights!

Ground Up Climbing Centre offers indoor and outdoor rock climbing for people of all ages and abilities. Drop in for a climb on their 40 foot high walls, enroll the kids in climbing classes, or head out to scale the Squamish granite with one of their ACMG qualified instructors!

New to climbing?

Never tried on a climbing shoe? Consider yourself an absolute beginner? The Ground Up Climbing Centre staff are there to help you every step of the way! Everyone who is new to the centre is given a full orientation by one of their team. They are happy to give you a tour of the centre, an introduction to the bouldering wall, and answer any questions you may have. They also rent all the gear you need at the desk, so you'll just need some comfy clothes and socks!

If you want to get on the ropes, you'll need one of their instructors with you. You can either book a belay session through their website, or book onto one of their rope climbing courses.

Experienced Climbers

Already know the ropes? The team at Ground Up Climbing Centre will give you a quick tour of the centre and make sure you're confident, then you're free to climb! If you're looking to toprope or lead climb, you'll need to pass their belay tests. These are free and more info can be found on their website.

Rock Climbing Outdoors

Want to experience some world-class climbing? Join one of their ACMG certified instructors for a day out on the rocks! You can book onto one of their outdoor courses, or get in touch to organize a custom day out. They cater to all ages and ability levels, from one-on-one coaching, to large groups or schools.

Youth Experiences

Kids climbing the walls? Channel their energy into one of their kids programs or holiday camps! Ground Up Climbing Centre runs youth rec programs after school, and full day camps in the spring and summer. They also have their own youth competition team, who compete in climbing competitions up to a national level.

What to Bring

Comfortable clothes, socks, and a bottle of water. They can rent you all the climbing gear you need!

Cafe

Enjoy a coffee, tea or some snacks at their on-site cafe.

Getting There

Located in Squamish, just off Highway 99. There is free parking onsite and bus routes 1, 2, 4, and 9 all stop nearby.
